Our Expert's Opinion:
The primary utility offered by Ultra Power #4 is early access to new features of the Ultra platform, known as "Beta access." In my opinion, this utility is greatly underestimated in the current market. Although it may seem counterintuitive, it could be considered an enhanced version of the "NFT airdrop" utility, similar to that of "Wood Soul" or "Lightning Soul."
Since the launch of the "Ultra Power" collection, the "Beta access" utility has allowed holders of these Uniqs to gain early access to the gaming platform and the tournament platform, while also providing them with four valuable Uniqs. The first Uniq distributed was the Infinity Pet "Loki," offered to test the redeem code feature. The second was the "Battle Pass," to access the "Ultra Arena" tournament platform. The third is the "Furry Fury Uniq Key," which enabled early access testing for a video game. Finally, more recently, "The Bone-a-Lisa" was offered during the testing of the electron client.
If we add up the average price of the last five sales of these Uniqs on Ultra's Marketplace, we get 887 UOS + 29 UOS + 25 UOS + 65 UOS, totaling 1006 UOS in returns in just over a year, solely from this utility. In comparison, over a year, the Wood Soul only received the Infinity Pet "Mars," with an average resale* value of 582 UOS, and the Lightning Soul received the Infinity Pet "Nix," resold for an average* of 500 UOS. Thus, the "Beta access" utility appears to offer a much higher return than the "NFT Airdrop" utility.
However, it is important to put these recent NFT drops into perspective. Firstly, the "Beta access" utilities do not seem to be cumulative: owning two Ultra Power #4 will probably only grant one Uniq per test session. Additionally, it is impossible to know whether the Ultra team will continue to reward holders of these Uniqs with an NFT drop during the testing of future features.
Another significant advantage soon to be offered by the "Beta access" utility, and confirmed by the Ultra team, is early access to Ultra's upcoming exclusive AAA FPS. This benefit is identical to that offered by the "early access to games" utility of UP#2, #6, and #13.
The second utility offered by this Uniq is access to exclusive tournaments organized by Ultra and its partners. By participating, players can win various prizes, such as UOS, other Uniqs, or merchandise. An experienced player could thus achieve significant returns on investment by regularly participating in these competitions. However, it's important to note that no specific tournament exclusive to these Uniqs has yet been announced on the Ultra Arena platform. Hence, the announcement of an e-sports partner is eagerly anticipated.
It's also relevant to highlight the benefits granted to all Ultra Powers holders:
- VIP status, including a role and a dedicated channel on Discord.
- The receipt of Uniqs during key events (Milestones): to date, the "Ultra New Year" with an average resale price* of 45 UOS, and the "Booster Ready" with an average resale price* of 387 UOS.
- The option to "burn" their Uniq to obtain a physical trading card.
- The CEOs have also mentioned the possibility of adding other features in the future.
Analyzing the sale price on the Marketplace, it's observed that the current floor price, at 2964 UOS, is slightly higher than that of most other Ultra Powers, which generally range between 2200 and 2500 UOS. However, given the current price of UOS, it remains affordable for moderate budgets.
In summary:
Strengths:
- Provides the opportunity to win UOS or Uniqs by participating in exclusive tournaments.
- Early access to Ultra's exclusive AAA FPS.
- Part of the first Ultra Power collection, which includes VIP status, Uniq drops at important milestones, and a limited offer with only 52 units available.
- The "Beta access" utility offers a surprisingly high yield.
Weakness:
- Lack of visibility regarding the future of the "Beta access" utility.
- Slightly higher price compared to other Ultra Powers.
Conclusion:
In my view, the "Beta access" utility is essential to have in one's portfolio. Ultra Power #4 is a wise choice that I highly recommend. It suits both investors looking for passive income through Uniq drops provided by both the "Beta access" and Milestones utilities, and competitors seeking challenges with access to exclusive tournaments.
If the current floor price is a concern, the "Fire Soul" Uniq from the Elemental Souls collection offers the same "Beta access" utility as UP#4, but with a starting price of 1275 UOS.
